Who we are
The M-X Guidance Board is part of the Manufacturing-X initiative and consists of appointed and empowered representatives from a select group of projects under the Manufacturing-X umbrella and related associated projects like Catena-X.
WHAT WE WANT TO ACHIEVE
The goal of the M-X Guidance Board is to ensure, that all participating projects are contributing to a set of compatible and interoperable digital ecosystems across industries. Participating projects are free of overlap. The resulting ecosystems shall be operated by one or more operating entities.
From the perspective of a industrial company, that participates in any of these digital ecosystems (in any industry), this means:
- It is part of only one governing body (if any).
- It will have to register, identify and authenticate itself only once to be able to collaborate with any other company in any of the participating digital ecosystems and to access the resources (app store) of all digital ecosystems.
- It will have to model its data only once for a given use-case.
- It will have to use only one set of core protocols (e.g. connectors).
- Use cases addressing the same goals (e.g. PCF management) are as identical as possible across all digital ecosystems, so that companies have to use only one set of processes across industries.
