What we will do

The MX-Guidanceboard uses a common project database called “MX-ProjeXpace” to analyze all participating projects for potential areas that require alignment. We then create an expert group for each of these topics that analyzes the different options in detail and proposes a solution which ensures interoperability of all projects. All projects are then asked to implement this solution.

In order to achieve the stated goal, the M-X Guidance Board will …

  • IDENTIFY: analyze the participating projects for overlap including risks of incompatibility and redundancy,
  • PRIORITIZE: identify alignment potentials and sort them for expected impact to reach the stated goal,
  • EVALUATE: structure and compare options for each alignment potential,
  • DECIDE: draw up a joint way to move forward together across all alignment potentials,
  • COMMUNICATE: create transparency about the degree of alignment of all M-X projects and all decisions taken by the M-X Guidance Board
  • ADVOCATE: create transparency about the technology, administrative and organizational approaches how to become M-X compliant interoperable to a broad audience to inform potential upcoming projects.
  • COOPERATE: with other standardization initiatives like Gaia-X, Catena-X, IDTA, ISO, IEC, … in order to reuse what is already established

HOW WE WORK

  • We acknowledge the responsibility – failing to accomplish our goal means every participating project loses.
  • We focus on solving industry challenges – our compass is creating business value, not proposing sophisticated technology.
  • We don’t reinvent the wheel – wherever a functioning solution exists and creates value, it is always preferred to theoretical alternatives.
  • We contribute to open source – our best way of aligning is to combine our efforts not just on paper, but on technology, use cases and products.
  • We backup our words with action – requests for alignment should always be supported by contributing resources required to accomplish the work.
  • We respect each other’s time – the M-X Guidance Board is relying on voluntary participation by each valued member.
